Cuando me vendieron este seguro de vida, me explicaron que yo pagaría durante 20 años y que luego la póliza seguiría vigente de forma vitalicia, conservando el beneficio y generando intereses. Esa fue exactamente la razón por la que acepté contratarlo.

Ahora, después de 4 años pagando, me informan que no es así. Me dicen que la póliza que tengo solo es válida por 20 años y que, terminado ese plazo, si quiero mantener cobertura, tendría que renovarla pagando muchísimo más. Es decir, si no fallezco dentro de esos 20 años, mi beneficiario no recibiría nada después, a menos que yo siga pagando mucho más dinero.

Lo peor no es solo el cambio de versión, sino la respuesta que me han dado. La excusa de State Farm ahora es que la persona que me vendió la póliza ya no trabaja con ellos desde hace años, y que por eso no pueden saber exactamente qué fue lo que me ofreció o explicó. En otras palabras, se están lavando las manos y nadie asume responsabilidad por una póliza que ellos mismos emitieron y por la que yo llevo 4 años pagando.

Eso no fue lo que me ofrecieron, no fue lo que entendí y no fue la razón por la que acepté este producto. Si desde el inicio me hubieran explicado claramente que era solo un seguro temporal de 20 años y no una póliza vitalicia, jamás lo habría contratado.

Me siento mal informado, perjudicado económicamente y profundamente decepcionado con State Farm. Mi recomendación para cualquiera que esté pensando contratar un seguro con ellos es simple: no confíen solo en lo que les diga el agente; exijan todo por escrito, revisen cada condición y asegúrense de entender exactamente qué pasa al terminar el plazo."
